Willy Wonka Jr. Cast Member (Grades 3rd - 5th)

Ira B. Jones Elementary is proud to present our 24th musical production, Willy Wonka Jr., based on the book Charlie and The Chocolate Factory by Roald Dhal. We are very honored to have our show directed by Heather Gallagher of the Asheville Performing Arts Academy, with music direction by our very own, Jenni Park.

Registration for Cast Members Grades 3rd - 5th includes over 20 rehearsals with instruction from a professional stage director, choreographer and musical director, an official Broadway Jr. script, costumes for the production, cast party, and professional recordings of the final production.

Registration for Cast Members (3rd - 5th Grade) will close on Thursday, September 10 at noon. Registration for Tech Crew (4th - 5th Grade) and our Chorus (Kindergarten-2nd Grade) will remain open until mid December 2026.

All Students in grades 3-5 who wish to join the cast must attend an audition on Thursday, September 10 OR Friday, September 11. Choose your preferred audition date when completing registration.

Rehearsals for all Cast Members (3rd - 5th Grade) will be held on Thursdays from 2:35-4 PM, beginning September 17. Small groups of cast members will be asked to attend Friday rehearsals from 2:35 - 3:30 PM. Small groups are determined on a weekly basis and are often limited to lead cast members with speaking parts.

Performances are scheduled for Thu - Sat, March 4-6. It is important that all cast members be available for our performance dates. More details regarding our schedule and performances will be shared once registration is closed.
